The links below will take you to the websites of the companies that provide information on varicose vains. What is varicose vein disease? The varicose veins (aka varicose arteries) run through the inner layer of the skin. They are caused by varicose veins and have different causes, depending on the location. The varicose veins usually appear as a dark vein running from the bottom of the wrist to the wrist, or the upper arm. If the veins are too short (long, narrow) they can also cause discoloration of the skin. A varicose vein is different than a venous malformation - a blockage or rupture. The difference between them is that a varicose vein can develop into a large varicose vein (varicose arteriosclerosis), causing the veins to bleed into the surrounding tissues. The damage to the blood vessels is irreversible, and the disease can result in pain, numbness and weakness. What is the main causes of varicose veins?
2) Arteriosclerosis - the narrowing of blood vessels in the body (a narrowing of the artery). This may result from high blood glucose (high blood sugar) in your blood stream, especially if you eat a high carbohydrate diet.
